Top Three Vintage Porsche Headlights
Several years ago when I first got interested in lighting for longhoods I did a lot of research and with the help of many we compiled some pretty complete information. It's published at the Audette Collection site (please forgive me, it's starting to look like an antique) but since it was so long ago I thought that I would go ahead and feature some of it here again.
I'm starting with a 3-part series of AC White Papers on what I think are the top three early headlights used by or on Porsches:
Bosch H1
CibiƩ Bi-Iode
SEV Marchal Amplilux
It's interesting that the coolest headlights ever used on Porsches were over 50 years ago during the brief H1 halogen bulb era. I think that we are probably the leading restorer of all of these, starting in 2005. And we have watched them grew increasingly hard to find.
CibiƩ Bi-Iodes, used on Porsche production 9111R's, 911ST's and 911RSR's, are the most sought after headlights from this era, but the Bosch H1's and the SEV Marchal Amplilux's are equally cool in my opinion.
We're starting with Bosch H1's - Part 1: Bosch H1 Headlights
Best,
John
