  • My car was imported in 1978.
    It had been repainted sever different colors. IT had been raced. Had rear flairs installed and a front air dam'
    The kardex said red interior but there was not a trace of red, only black interior.
    Is it possible that red interior cars all dad this red "sock'?

          I also own 2 red interior cars. A 70T and a VERY original 69S. And I've never seen anything like that either.

          • i wonder if it is one of those "only1968 LUX" things
            Then again. This car was taken apart and painted several times.
            Even the entire red interior was removed and replaced with black interior.
            The red sock is original red Porsche grain material and looks period correct.

                      i think they used whatever they had laying around--have seen this thingie in black,yellow and grey...never in red though. the same goes for the leatherette they glued to the underside of the dash top section in order to eliminate squeezing.

                            • I've used shrink tubing in the past, just wondering if there was a better alternative. Kroon ones are nice and probably there are better uses for my time.
