After two months, I received my self-restored 67-68 Florida license plate from DMV. Previously the state wouldn’t allow “restoration” but changed their position at some point. The plate I purchased for $20 was in rough shape so had to get it into proper shape. Found a good painting method which worked well.
The best part? Check out the numbers… they work great with my VIN: 11800002.

This one is going back to as delivered. Togo brown over light brown interior. I also have 301331 that I'm going to hotrod. I'm leaning towards Lido gold on that one.

                  • Bob,

My vote is for the burgundy.

                    • Love red, have had Can Can and the burgundy, Burgundy is very nice.
Have you considered green. I saw an ivory car with a green interior and it was very very nice and different. I think it was very popular in the 356.

                        • While the carpeting was out checked on my 10 year old pedal cluster rebuild. Looks good apart from the doggie hairs. Vacuumed before replacing carpet.

                          • Bob,
Here's a coupe of options. The red interior was in a car I used to own quite a few years ago. The green interior was in an ivory car owned by Will Sanchez, I provided the green/black/white houndstooth.

You could do a red/black/white houndstooth on the red or burgundy, you can get the red houndstooth from a number of suppliers. Porsche didn't offer a burgundy houndstooth and just used the red for either red or burgundy. I made a burgundy houndstooth when I was doing that fabric, sorry, none left.

I would do either the red or green.

                          • I love red, but that green with houndstooth gives me envy!
Of course, not the traditional way.
By the way I have had 2 White with red 911's and an olive with red interior.
