Friends and foes (friends mostly),
As many of you know, more tha a decade ago I opened a shop here in Austin to restore cars for my personal collection. The reasoning was simple: I wanted my cars perfect and the few people I trusted to do the quality of work I expected had (and still have) multi-year waiting lists.
During that time I've been fortunate to work with people who have become close friends and (most of them) very talented. My painter, Keith, is at the top of that list.
While Keith continues to restore my cars in my shop, I'm also helping him start his own business using the skills he's developed over 25 years in the business and the knowledge he's gained from almost 10 years in my shop. In my opinion, Keith's work is as good as the work performed at any shop in the country - and often better.
Keith is looking for a couple new projects for people who want their cars done right. No, he isn't cheap. But owing to the fact that he works in my shop with low overhead, his hourly rate is MUCH lower than the numbers we're hearing from the other very best shops. He's also not fast. But few with his talent are. What he is, is supremely talented, honest as they come, and a helluva good guy.
Please coinsider him if you want your Porsche restoration done right.
