I stupidly sold all of my working spares, then I had my new Classic Retrofit item fail.

it was replaced quickly and under warranty, but I’ve realised I need a working spare to carry on long trips.

Care to elaborate on how a classic retrofit cdi could fail?

I was advised some solder within the unit failed / broke.

One minute everything was great , the next second (in the middle of a roundabout) the tires went out, and stayed out.
