FS: 1964 - 1965 VDM steering wheel

Hi everyone,




I have decided to sell the steering wheel from my dad’s car. He purchased the car in Santa Monica in summer of 1965, as I remember the car was built in February 1965. That’s me in the photo next to the car in summer of 1965. I’m sorry to say the car left the family some time ago but I still have the steering wheel. I am not a Porsche guy so I asked around and some very knowledgeable guys helped me out. This is the very early aluminum center VDM. Generally, I gather the value of the wheel is in the neighborhood of $4500. I have attached some representative photos and I'am happy to post more or email as many photos as you like. I am in Los Angeles, (I live about two stone throws from where that 1965 photo was taken). we have 2022 back in 2018(pre bubble burst) it would have been a bargain.
sold one for 10k back then...4500 is pretty much spot on IMHO
earlier this year i sold one for less than 4500 ...with puck included

Put it on BaT and let the gotta haves war over it. Have yet to see steering wheels on there. This would be the perfect one to start. Just a thought and yes, nice wheel and GLWS.

I have considered BaT. I'm not trying to squeeze every nickel out of the wheel but I do want to get a fair price. I agree that BaT is currently the best place for the market to decide. Thank you for suggestion.

Hi guys, This early VDM wheel is still available. $4K. I think BaT is the place to go if no one on the forum wants it. Thanks!
