Hi Guys, "Absolutely stunning restoration! The attention to detail is remarkable, bringing the 1968 ashtray back to life. It's a beautiful blend of nostalgia and craftsmanship. Well done."

                mock up of dash trim
the lower piece is out of the dash kit (i Have the whole kit) .... I have to decide if I want to sand them out with 180# and take them thru the polishing sequence
none of the pieces are attached, just the pins hanging in the holes and upper pieces are from original (not to be used)
The glove box and ash tray opens and closes perfectly with very good gaps all thru-out Click image for larger version

                              the grain looks good
if I go with red it will have to be a darker tone
more likely I will be going black
I have 3 X(1/2 hides) of beautiful black
what i will probably do is use the black (if i can get yardage of it) on the door pannels and seat inserts (tuck and roll)
the rest will be done it black leatyer.
                              That is very nice find
                              enjoy
