  • Luggage Rack Straps

I have one of Eric’s racks for my 68’ 912 and would like to source some luggage tie down straps. I would prefer leather but wonder what others use beside rope and bungee cords.

Hi, Woodys made a reproduction strap, I sent him the specs. I was going to make them, but I honestly couldn't find someone one to do the absolutely "authentic perfect" in terms of the clasp. Probably should have just done them the way he did... sometimes I can be just a bit too picky. Anyway, he did a GREAT job on them imho. Not sure if this is the absolutely correct link...

Another option would be a "tack shop" for horse harnesses.

    cheers,

        Well,

I had about 150 of the red leather ones…priced at about 50cent per piece, made in GDR -
so old fabrication ….i always enclosed these to the 914 racks, together with the paint protection triangle mat…

Maybe I should ask them if they still produce..

https://www.woodyscustomshop.com/porsche-911-912-items/ - Third 'buy now' link from the top - I have theirs in tan and very happy with them (and Eric's rack)
