Correct LWB Black Rear View Mirror Adhesive Pads - $24.61 or $.25 - You Choose

Moving this thread over to where the good guys hangout...

From time to time there has been conversation about the correct adhesive pads that were used to mount the rear view mirrors for LWB (and later) cars. The correct color of these pads is black while most vendors only carry pads that are grey and stick out like a sore thumb once mounted.

Sierra Madre is the exception and sells a correct black pad for $24.61.

I've bought several and finally got tired of paying that price (plus, the SM pads aren't perfectly cut which is a annoying) so I embarked on a mission to find the material they were using to make their pads. Turns out, you can buy ten 100mm x 100mm sheets of the exact same material on AliExpress for $9.80 shipped.

Each sheet will make 4 mirror pads so 10 sheets is enough for 40 pads. Your net cost? $.25 each.

Even better, anyone in need can shoot me a PM with their address and I'll send you a 1/4 sheet of the material for free so you can make your own pad.

100cm = 1 meter, roughly 3 feet. These sheets cannot be 3 ft X 3 ft. You probably meant 100mm X 100mm, or roughly 4" X 4"?

JP do you still have any rear view mirror adhesive material? I'm replacing mine, and would love to do it right. I've got the gray from Pelican, but I'd prefer the black.

For what it's worth, the Sierra Madre link at the top of the thread doesn't work but the black adhesive listing is this one ($27.75).

(edit: found the black one at SMC, so no need to discuss the dark gray one they have)
