I have started taking apart the Idealsitz that are going in to the '69E.
The foam will need repairs, or ideally be changed altogether.

I have noticed that these seats are very close in stucture to the '74 to '80 Porsche sport seats, the separate headrest being the main difference.

who has a good source for foam? Either the correct Idealsitz foam, or the Porsche seat foam that should be easy enough to modify in the headrest area? I have tried Cartex Sitzklinik in Germany, without success.

Salut George just try to repair the exisiting.
There are some tricks when it comes to foam repair. Get some real professionals glue (you cannot buy anymore as a privateer in germany).
Grind out the defective part with smooth transitions to the surface, then glue the new part onto the defective region and then cut & grind to shape.
You can use some Rupfen to reinforce foam from the rear to prevent splitting or further damage.

Thanks for the tips, repair is always on the table seeing there are no parts available.
