Trunk carpet flap

I have tried everything, what or how does one attach the flap where the latch is. Why did the factory not just make the main carpet longer so that it would fold up? Mine just ends up flailing around or sliding down in front of the spare tire.
Is there some glue I have not tried?

To the top half of the panel inside the luggage area I can take a pic from my USA 72T in an hour or so.

OK so my pics are crap but feel the front lip just inside the luggage area (underside of the lock panel is how I would describe it) that almost faces the spare tyre that is where it is stuck to even some glue on the area where you adjust the locking mechanism too.

any contact adhesive should do the trick
