  • Photos from Carlisle - 4.30.2022

Up early for the 47th annual Porsche Only Swap Meet after a fun dinner last night with
    Vermicious Knid
    2.0L
    Vermicious Knid and
    Andoni510
    3.4L HB twin plug EFI
Andoni510. I missed last year so this was my first time at the new venue which is MUCH nicer than Hershey. Vendors on grass, better food options, and better staging. Weather was ridiculous (good) and the #1 topic of conversation. I managed a few treasures so not complaining but it's not like the old days.

The only thing harder to find than longhood parts was longhood cars. I counted a total of 4 in the concours, 2 for sale, and maybe another 10 in the parking lot.

This ratty 911L (that at least sounded good) was rumored to have sold for $68k and is on the way to the Netherlands.

I did OK. Bought the toolkit from that 68L. Couple sets of NOS Bosch lenses. A nice '68 rear view mirror. NOS orange badge in factory packaging. Couple sets of NOS gold decklid letters. Couple restored Webastos. A slew of mid-year rebuilt tachs that some guy was almost giving away. And some 944 bits and pieces I needed.

I've been on the hunt for an NOS orange badge for a while now. Glad you were able to find one!

Now that I'm an eastcoater again this was my first Carlisle event. Well organized and it was great meeting people face to face I only previously knew by pm's.
              Thanks for the entertainment JP

Thanks. I paid a bloody fortune for it but still feel like I got a good deal. I guess that’s about as good as it gets these days.

Love me a '68 911L. As long as that one isn't too rotten, I would say that was fairly bought. Also love those gas burners on that Targa.
