Which of Cerakote's grays in their V series is the closest to the color on the early 911 mufflers?

H-212 Battleship Grey looks pretty good.

Thanks for the suggestion. I plan to go to my coater to see if he can match two colors that I have. I will report back.

Local drag racer uses Cerakote on his headers with good results. He's running a metallic gold/bronze that looks a little like heated stainless steel. Good luck.

I met with my coater yesterday. None of the Cerakote colors are a good match; they are all too light. I decided to have my coater bead blast the muffler and I will paint it with the high-temp paint I got from Willhoit.

Here is a photo of the muffler that I had painted with the paint I got from John Willhoit, Thurmalox High Temperature Dark Gray Exhaust Paint. It is a little darker than the paint that was once available from Stoddard.

                  Boy, I'll say. That's dark.

I agree. As I said, it is a little darker than the paint that was once sold by Stoddard. Willhoit uses it on all of his cars. I am sure it won't be that noticeable once the muffler is installed.

However, it looks a lot better than what was on there. This muffler had less than 500 miles on it. Click image for larger version
