  • Sudden engine dieseling?

My 1971S has been running great and suddenly I'm having an issue with the engine dieseling every time I turn off the car. Any suggestions before I start the hunt? Idle speed maybe?

Seems like every time I've had to deal with this the cause has been the same - bad gas. Any chance you recently filled up?

      +1 I'd start there first.

I agree, bad gas is usually the cause.
Next could be hanging throttle or leaking fuel injector if you still have MFI.
If you have carbs they might have a bad float.

Very interesting guys and I did just fill the car up before this problem started. I'll get some fresh gas and see if it helps and report back. Appreciate the comments!
