The reason my current (2021) Authenticity book does not say that a bumper guard delete option was available on the 1967 911S (or any other model) is because that option is first listed in 1969 (options 9302 & 9303). The 1965-1968 parts catalog says they were standard on all models, though ones with rubber covers were an option on various models listed in the option tables (pages 185-194). Could they have been ordered that way either for US or RoW cars? -- yes, but I would assume the Kardex (or other records post 1970) would mention this deviation from standard specification. In the US, I suspect opting out in 1972 or certainly 1973 was not possible. If there are technical bulletins that say otherwise, I do not have these.
