moito To be clear, that screenshot you posted allows a user to disable smilies in their own posts. In other words, if selected, when you type a colon/close parenthesis, it will not show as a smiley in your post.

Is that what you're looking for?

jep the S forums function is only partially satisfying since it is not a permanent setting so i have to click that button with every single post i make...in a perfect world there would be no emojis visible on my screen AT ALL...not in my posts ,not in others posts. to show a sign of catholicity towards emoji users i`m happy with everything more convenient*

I think it's (the settings) main goal is not to disable emojis but to prevent the bulletin board from f***ing up sourcecode. Especially if you're lost in lisp.

We're just fixing a bug there that should go live tomorrow. In the meantime, if you upload your photo as an avatar under My Profile in the forums (click your username on the upper right) it should end up in both places.
