good thinking.... i actually thought about putting some bug spray in the air and immediately decided not to because i worried about contamination.
now that i am just using water everything is back to normal.
the reason i tried soap was partially because my squeegee was leaving black smudge marks on the white paint.
thanks for your suggestion, it was a prescient thought.
Yes , thats the begining of a creek and designated preserve.I had a deer eating in my front yard for an hour or so the other late afternoon. I let the voluntiring plants grow in my yard. i dont plant anything.
I have found that if i shoot in the morning there are "no"bugs . Also i leave all of the lights off as i prepair to shoot and as soon as i finish shooting turn them off.
If bugs stay away for about 20 minutes im in the clear.
I have been lucky so far and have not had to mitigate mosquitoes during my working hours. They do come out after i stop working.
Here is the view from my front door.
looking in this direction, the next house would be about 1/2 mile away.
looking down stream of North Fork Garrety Creek
final clear coat for both quarter panels and rear cross panel.
one nice long run to sand down coming out of the upper left engine opening
the rest of the paint is fine once manicured.
I just had to stand back and look.....
here it is ready for sanding with 1000/1500 with a block
then 2000/3000/5000 with a D.A.
then buff................
I feel 40lbs. lighter..............
While appropriate to prevent others from touching the painted surfaces on the car, can’t seem to resist the urge to caress this one.... Looks beautiful!
first piece to be color sanded and buffed engine lid.
block sanded with 1000 and 1500, then wet sanded thru the progressions with D.A, 1000,1500. 2000.and 3000
Then wet sanded by hand in one direction with 3000 then 5000
Buffed with 3m compound #1.
the game is to eliminate "runner' scratches. these are the ones that remain when everything else is "done" usually only a hand full of them and they need individual attention with 2500/3000.
Pictures show surface sanded out with 5000
and picture of hood buffed out with 3M #1 compound.
i am a lousy photographer but with closest examination with 3 power glasses all sand scratches have vanished ..... that's a good thing..........
