Bob, Corporations do not have a vote, only citizens… Citizens United was decided on the premise that money equals voice, I suggest you spend a bit of time doing the sums of dollars contributed in elections.. Individuals provide the vast amount of political donations filled closely by Unions. A little research will expose that the vast majority of political giving was to Democratic candidates by Silicon Valley and left leaning Billionaires!

Aussie, even though the majority of the money comes from private citizens donating smaller amounts, politicians tend to lend their ears more to the BIG donors. There are more lobbyists in Washington than congressmen.Comment

Agreed… who are these “big donors”? Michael Bloomberg spent millions on his election campaign and trying to change gun control, only to loose on both.. politicians will always give an ear to lobbyists and in some cases back their agenda… Joe Biden has been in the pocket of Credit Card Companies, that’s why they are able to charge high fees, he has introduced many bills to favor CC and Banks! The Teachers Unions accomplish the closing of schools during the pandemic. it’s represents citizens who vote and donate… I could go on but you get my drift!Comment

I realize that that it's futile to deal with facts but carried interest is not a "law". It exists as a ruling by someone in the Treasury Department. It was not created by a court of law or an elected body. You may want to rein in your knee jerk aggressiveness a bit as it often sidelines and dominates your intellect.John Audette

They just support whatever and whoever best supports their cause. And, BTW, who are "they"? Maybe the term deep state is a metaphorical term for corruption and evil rather than an actual structure. A kind of dogma that those involved tacitly - and silently - agree to. But it sure as hell exists (where are those trillions of dollars?). The Military / Industrial / Intelligence Complex I suppose.
